The “Veterans” grabbed the Southwest Mini-footbal Cup
Players from the teams of “Veterans” and “El Clasico” joined the group of lucky players who have already won the right to participate in the big international tournament in Albena in September. This became clear after today the two teams reached the final of the mini-football competition in Sandanski, which brought together the best teams from the Southwest.
In the last match “Veterans” won with 4:2 and thus lifted the trophy. The bronze medal went to the team of “Zelen svyat” who beat “The Comitsite” 2:0 in the small final.
The winners were awarded and welcomed by Atanas Stoyanov – Mayor of Sandanski Municipality, who congratulated the winners and thanked all participants. The best goalkeeper was Kristian Nikolov from “Veterans”, the most attractive player was Anton Andonov from “El Classico”, for fairplay was awarded Marian Vassilev from “Tok po tyaloto”, and the most accurate referee was Yordan Vodenicharov.

The biggest in the country chain of mini football tournaments started a month ago in Stara Zagora, then passed through Pazardzhik. The finalists in each city secure participation in the big international final tournament, which is scheduled for mid-September by the sea with the participation of football teams from 10 countries. The series of competitions is organised by the Leisure Sport Association under the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme with partners the European Football Development Network, the European Federation of Mini-Soccer and others.
After Sandanski this weekend, the chain of amateur tournaments “Grab the Cup” continues with regional competitions in Gorna Oryahovitsa (22-23 May), Montana (29-30 May), Sofia (5-6 June) and Varna (12-13 June). The grand final is scheduled for 13-17 September in Albena.
