“FAN CUP” determines the best teams in the mini-football in the Southwest

The best teams of the famous football school from the Southwest started participating in the FAN CUP tournament. Today and tomorrow in Sandanski the champions will be determined in the third stage of the largest in our country amateur mini-football chain, which started a month ago and will last all summer.

 

At the opening ceremony the participants were greeted by Pancho Panchev – Secretary of the Municipality of Sandanski, among the officials who welcomed the attendees were also Valeri Tsvetkov – member of the Referee Commission at the BFS, Nikola Timov – Manager “Sports Activities” at the Municipality and others. “As one of the most sporting towns in the country, Sandanski is once again hosting a popular race, part of the largest circuit in terms of participants this year in the country,” said Panchev after opening the tournament, wished success to the participants and pointed out that sport remains one of the main priorities in the work of the Municipal Government. The officials were awarded with special prizes in recognition of Sandanski’s very active work in the field of sport, which this year has been designated “European City of Sport” by the Brussels-based ACES Europe.

Immediately after the first whistle, the teams engaged in a fierce battle with the preliminary group matches that will determine the quarterfinalists. Tomorrow, Sunday, at 9.30 a.m. the direct eliminations begin, around 12.00 p.m. is the final, immediately after that the awards ceremony and the closing of the tournament will take place. The two teams that make it to the last match win visas to the grand final in September by the sea. Among the partners of the organizers of the “Leisure Sports Association” in the implementation of the project under the Erasmus + program of the European Union are the European Football Development Network, the European Federation of Mini Soccer and others.

 

The biggest mini-football tournament chain in the country started a month ago in Stara Zagora and then passed through Pazardzhik. The finalists in each city secure participation in the big international final tournament, which is scheduled for mid-September by the sea with the participation of football teams from 10 countries.

 

After Sandanski this weekend, the chain of amateur tournaments “Grab the Cup” continues with regional competitions in Gorna Oryahovitsa (May 22-23), Montana (May 29-30), Sofia (June 5-6) and Varna (June 12-13).
