The fifth stage of "FAN CUP" brings together virtuosos from 8 cities

This weekend, the biggest football tournament in the country will visit Gorna Oryahovitsa. The competition “FAN CUP” brings together the elite amateur teams from the region, which will select two new teams with visas for the grand final in Albena in the autumn.

The series of races in mini-football started in April in Stara Zagora, then passed through Pazardzhik and Sandanski. The finalists in each city secure their participation in the big international final tournament, which is scheduled for mid-September by the sea with the participation of football teams from 10 countries. The champions under the Ayazmoto were the players of “E-Dynamics” who defeated “Sporting” in the final with a penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regular time. A week later the two teams that won visas to Albena were the champions of “Esetra Commerce” and the team of “Detoni”, the match in Pazardzhik then ended 3:1. Last weekend they were joined by the champions from Sandanski “Veterans” and their runners-up from “El Clasico”

Now on the legendary st. “Lokomotiv” in Gorna Oryahovitsa the final schedule for the fall will be filled with two new teams, the forecasts are for very contested matches. The draw and the opening ceremony is this Saturday at 14.00, an hour later the matches in the qualifying groups start. On Sunday at 9.30 a.m. the direct eliminations from the quarter-finals upwards are scheduled, at around 12.00 p.m. the final will start, immediately afterwards is the prize-giving and closing of the tournament. The festive mood is enhanced by the fact that this year Gorna Oryahovitsa has been designated a “European City of Sport” by ASES Europe.

So far, the most famous amateur teams from the Central part of Northern Bulgaria, famous for its football talents, have declared their participation. The teams are from Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Gorna Oryahovitsa, Dzhulyunitsa, Gabrovo, Sevlievo, Troyan, Lovech and others. “Mecho Pooh”, “Athletic Carthala”, “Galaxy”, “Bohemians”, “Brateks”, “Gorna RIO”, “Apple”, “Master Peak”, “Borovo MFK”, “Eagles”, “Sevilla”, “Blue Stones”, “Sporting Troyan”, “Phoenix Lovech”, “Sayana” and others. The registration closes on Thursday.

The matches will be played at the Lokomotiv Stadium, where the first kick-off will be given on Saturday by Gorna Oryahovitsa Mayor Eng. Dobromir Dobrev and some of the legends of local football and sport. Among the partners of the organizers of the “Leisure Sports Association” in the implementation of the project under the Erasmus + program of the European Union are the European Football Development Network, the European Federation of Mini Football and others.

After Gorna Oryahovitsa this weekend, the chain of amateur tournaments “FAN CUP” continues with regional competitions successively in Montana (29-30 May), Sofia (5-6 June) and Varna (12-13 June). The grand final is scheduled for 13-17 September in Albena.
