Both teams made it to the last game of the mini-football tournament in Gorna Oryahovitsa

The teams of “Phoenix” (Lovech) and “Apple” (Dzhulyunitsa) are the next two
teams that secured their place in the grand final of the amateur circuit
“FAN CUP”. The two teams gave each other a tough fight in the last
match of the mini-football competition in Gorna Oryahovitsa, fourth stage of the
large-scale initiative, the most massive in the sport in the country during the year.

The champions of st. Lokomotiv became the players of “Phoenix”, winning in
Eple with 2:1. With the same result, but after a draw in
regular time and penalty kicks “MFC Borovo” beat “Blue
stones” in the bronze medal match.

The winners were honored and welcomed by one of the heroes of the famous
Bulgarian team of the unforgettable American summer Ivaylo Yordanov –
bronze medalist from the World Championship in USA’94, legend of the local
Lokomotiv GO, Footballer of the Year 1998 and goal scorer of Bulgaria 1991,
champion and winner of the Portuguese Cup and Super Cup with Sporting
Lisbon. Among the dignitaries and medal winners were also the mayor
of Gorna Oryahovitsa Eng. Dobromir Dobrev, deputy mayor for “Economic
Development, Sport and International Relations” Stefcho Alipiev and others. During this
This year Gorna Oryahovitsa is awarded the title “European City of Sport”.

Ivaylo Todorov from Phoenix was named the best goalkeeper,
Georgi Ivanov from “Apple” was the most attractive player, the most accurate referee
was Andrey Andreev, and the award for fair play was exceptionally given by
organizers to the management of St. Petersburg. “Lokomotiv” for the

Final ranking of the fourth tournament of “FAN CUP” in Gorna

players from 10 countries in mid-September in Albena. Before that
their representatives were determined the mini football tournaments in Stara Zagora,

Erasmus + of the European Union are the European Network for the Development of
Football, the European Federation of Mini Football and others.

After Gorna Oryahovitsa the chain of amateur tournaments “FAN CUP”
continues with the regional competitions successively in Montana next
(29-30 May), Sofia (5-6 June) and Varna (12-13 June). The grand final
is scheduled for 13-17 September in Albena. There are still a few open
