“FAN CUP” gathers in Montana the football masters of the Northwest

This weekend the best football masters of the Northwest will be determined. The “FAN CUP” tournament brings together the region’s elite amateur teams in Montana to select two new winning teams for the grand final in Albena in the fall.

The series of mini-football competitions started in April in Stara Zagora, then passed through Pazardzhik, Sandanski and Gorna Oryahovitsa.
The finalists in each city secure their participation in the big international final tournament, which is scheduled for mid-September by the sea with teams from 10 countries. So far, the teams of E-Dynamics and Sporting from Stara Zagora, Esetra Commerce and Detoni from Pazardzhik, Veterans and El Classico from Sandanski, Phoenix and Apple from Gorna Oryahovitsa have secured their visas for the grand final in Albena.

Now in Montana they will be joined by two more teams, the forecasts are for very contested matches. Some of the most popular players of FC Montana are expected to start the tournament, along with the mayor of the city Zlatko Zhivkov, the executive director of the football club Rumen Panayotov, the legend in sports parachuting Daniela Yordanova and others. The draw of lots and the opening ceremony is this Saturday at 10.00 a.m., half an hour later the matches in the qualifying groups start, which will continue on the same day until 14.00. On Sunday at 9.30 a.m. the direct eliminations from the quarter-finals upwards are scheduled, at 12.00 p.m. the final will start, immediately afterwards the awards ceremony and the closing of the tournament.

So far, the most famous teams from the cult cities of the Northwest – Vratsa, Kozloduy, Montana, etc., have declared their participation: the Magicians, Barcelona, Etalon, Vihar, Na po beer, Nashentsi, Na po rakia, Paok rasnik, Novobrantsi, V & K Ltd., etc., and the entries are still ongoing. The matches will be played on the auxiliary artificial pitch at St.
Ogosta in Montana. Among the partners of the organizers of the “Leisure Sports Association” in the implementation of the project under the Erasmus + program of the European Union are the European Football Development Network, the European Federation of Mini Football and others.

After Montana this weekend, the chain of amateur tournaments “FAN CUP” continues with regional competitions successively in Sofia (5-6 June) and Varna (12-13 June). The grand final is scheduled for September 13-17 in Albena.
