Champions were crowned after penalties in the FAN CUP tournament in Sofia

For the first time, penalties determined the winner in a stage of the Fan Cup chain this year.

After a draw in the regular time of the final against “Northwest – AMIGO” and performances of penalty kicks, the champion in Sofia became the team of “Lev Ins”. The two teams are the next to secure a place in the grand final in the chain of mini-football tournaments, the largest and most massive initiative in sports in our country during the year.

In the contested final, the regular time ended 2: 2, in the penalties excellent performances of goalkeeper Alexander Alexandrov helped “Lev Ins” to triumph with the trophy with a total score of 4: 2. In the bronze match, the DHC Technology team also beat the Victoria team 3: 1 after penalties.

The tournament in the capital was opened by two legendary Bulgarian national football players. Dimitar Penev and Ivan Tishanski gave the kick-off in the first match after greeting those present and wishing success to the participants. The hosts of the Sportna Sofia complex in the newest park of the capital “Vazrazhdane” again offered excellent conditions to the players.

The best goalkeeper was Alexander Alexandrov from “Lev Ins”, the most attractive competitor was Filip Iliev from “Northwest – AMIGO”, the fair play was exceptionally awarded to the referee Ivan Ivanov, who found on the field and returned to its owner an extremely expensive watch. and the most precise judge was Murad Adem.

 

Final ranking in the sixth tournament of the Fan Cup chain in Sofia: 1. “Lev Ins”, 2. “Northwest – AMIGO”, 3. “DHC Technology”. The first two teams qualify for the grand finale, which will feature players from 10 countries in mid-September in Albena.

The largest chain of amateur mini-football tournaments started in April in Stara Zagora, then passed through Pazardzhik, Sandanski, Gorna Oryahovitsa, Montana, and now Sofia. The finalists in each city ensure their participation in the international final tournament in the autumn by the sea. Among the partners of the organizers from the Association of Sport in the Free Time in the implementation of the project under the Erasmus + program of the European Union are the European Football Development Network, the European Federation of Mini-Football, Slovak Mini Football Federation, Association of Italian Referees and many more.

After Sofia, the qualifications in the chain of amateur tournaments Fan Cup will end with the regional competition in Varna next weekend. The grand final is scheduled for September 13-17 in Albena.
